The author is an inventor of TRON, the most prevalent embedded OS. His points of view for real society is absolutely original and convincing. As the title says, he turns an acute eye to the contradictions in this real society - World is imperfect - , dilemmas between science and emotion.

The points are just "We are in imperfect generation. We should keep our own eye on this world."

新聞のコラムに掲載されていたものをまとめた1冊。震災直後に書かれたこともあり、科学と社会をテーマにした指摘が並ぶ。コラムのまとめだけに、本書では一貫してまとまった提言をされているわけではないが、科学を活かすには社会制度設計が重要など、なるほどと思わせる内容が並んでいる。
