私が本書の執筆を決意したのは、母とともに体験したモロッコでの物語のような出来事を、母が元気なうちに記録に残したいと思ったからです。 1987年、母はマッサージ師としてモロッコ国王、故ハッサン２世（HASSAN II）の王室に入り、以後12年にわたって国王と国王ファミリー専属のマッサージ師として行動をともにしていました。 これは、私の母が実際に経験した1987年～1999年の出来事と、私自身が1987年～1992年に体験した出来事をそれぞれの日記と記録をもとにまとめたものです。（「はじめに」より抜粋） ＜著者紹介＞ 田中由紀子（たなか ゆきこ） 1972年、東京・世田谷生まれ。 1987年に、母・まさえがマッサージ師としてモロッコ国王、故ハッサン２世（HASSAN II）の王室に入り、以後12年にわたって国王と国王ファミリー専属のマッサージ師として活動する。 母親のモロッコ赴任の際、15歳で単身オーストラリア（パース）、アメリカ（ニューヨーク）へ留学。その後、母の赴任先のモロッコ（ラバト）へ移住し、Rabat American School in Morocco に入学。日本人初の卒業生となる。 20歳で日本へ帰国し、玉川学園女子短期大学幼児教育科を卒業。 現在は会社員で２児の母、地元の消防団員としても活動している。 本書は、母が経験した1987年～1999年の出来事と、自身が1987年～1992年に体験した出来事を、日記と記録をもとにまとめたもの。
