I've always been fascinated by dreams in general, so I was really looking forward to this book in particular.
In this story, the author focuses mainly on dreams that are so comfortable and wonderful that it becomes very difficult to wake up from and go back to reality. Other stories I've read that involve dreams also include horrifying nightmares and so it was a little refreshing to have a situation where good dreams are the potentially dangerous ones.
I think my favorite part of this book was トロガイ's story when she was young and fell in love. At the very end of the book when 上橋菜穂子 explains where she got the character idea of トロガイ, she mentions 沖縄のおばあたち and I instantly understood トロガイ's character completely. I almost laughed out loud at that part. トロガイ is an exact persona of those sharp-tongued, iron-willed grannies in Okinawa. You can't ever underestimate the power of those small, little grannies. Cross them and they will EAT YOU. ;D
